Home Learning Newsletter, Covid - 19 Update

24th April 2020

Kia ora koutou Whanau

We are currently at Alert Level 4 – Lockdown until 11.59pm Monday 27 April 2020. We will then move to Alert Level 3 – Restrict for a minimum of 2 weeks. On Monday 11 May 2020 our Prime Minister will inform us about the next step in Aotearoa’s Team of 5 million fight against Covid -19.

School at Alert Level 3 – Restrict from Wednesday 29 April is open for the following students ONLY

  • You are an essential/safe worker (you will be asked for details including contact numbers)

…and you have no-one who can look after your children

…and you are unable to extend your bubble or share care

…Students must meet Manurewa East School’s prerequisites to attend

Teachers have been making contact to collect this information. We have noticed some of the contact information we have is not correct.

If you have not been contacted please message us, email office@manurewaeast.school.nz phone or text 0275595479.

The Minister of Education ‘Chris Hipkins’ encourages students to stay home and continue to engage in distance learning at Alert Level 3. Your tamariki must NOT just turn up to school, at Alert Level 3 there are strict protocols to be adhered to, these protocols keep everyone as safe as possible. School will look very different and perhaps even scary to some of our students, staying HOME is the encouraged choice at Alert Level 3.

We will continue to keep you updated as we progress. Keep being kind, staying safe, saving lives and staying home! Nga mihi Mary Takatainga Tumuaki
